Don't Miss Out....Japan Stocks ARE BACK!

Hey everyone, Dan Takashi here. It looks to me like the foreign investment community is starting to wake up to Japanese stocks.
It looks to me like
It looks to me like a good choice.「それは私には良い選択に見えます。」

That's right. Uh,, the long slumber that has happened in the Japanese stock market 30 years, basically 30 years of markets just going sideways still have not caught up to the 1989 highs, still not there yet today, but getting closer as the nikkei has now broken to 30 000.
30 years of markets just going sideways
動詞:still have not caught up
【フレーズ】still not there yet

And but now it looks to me that looking through the news also looking through Google search trends also looking at futures positions as well as ETF implied volatility, all this to me looks to me like the japanese market is about to make a big comeback.
It looks to me like
IV。

So let me give you guys an update on this situation and I'll give you guys my consensus and my view on how I think you can be making money going forward.

Today currently right now is february the 20th 6 11 a.m.. This is as Japan time, currently it is New York eastern time february the 19th for 12 p.m the markets just closed.

Okay so let's run through this year first off let's go through some news that I read today in cnbc it's pretty rare especially CDBC tends to be sort of a much more domestic focused uh when i say domestic i say us and european western market focused uh investment news media company and it's rare that you suddenly start seeing articles about japan.

。 "it looks to me that "という表現を獲得したことで満足としたいと思います。

but we saw a great article today published talking about how japan stocks have outperformed europe

but investors are still not seeing its

potential according to strategists from

clsa

this is a famous strategist nicholas

smith from clsa he's pretty famous

he was talking about how in japan the

nikkei 225 the benchmark index for japan

has gained more than 10 percent

since the beginning of this year in

comparison the

euro stock 600 has risen about 3.43

percent year-to-date

while the s p 500 is up only 4.2

so year to date among the biggest

markets in the world right now

especially in financial markets

japan is up way more than the western

hemisphere

it's up more than the us it's up more

than europe

and foreigners are starting to wake up

the foreign investment community is

starting to wake up here uh we can see

here that this

big 30 000 level has crossed for the

first time in more than three decades

since 1990 and still we're still seeing

some strategies having this have come

some concerns about the market

overheating

and declines in friday brought the index

below 30 000 again

so again you know we're seeing the index

hover back and forth right now as

people i think are sort of still in

disbelief whether

japan's really made a comeback yet or

not uh so again you know

people are wondering is this for real

the nikkei 225

is it really back our thing is really

different in japan

this long slumber for the nikkei 225 as

we can see from the chart here

has it really made a comeback is it

really going to keep going up here

so let me give you guys my analysis on

what's going on in this situation

as usual guys i'm going to do some chart

stuff i'm going to do some technical

stuff for

so if you're new to all this and if

you're a beginner

or if you just want to review please see

the below description area so you can

review some of the basics the charts

also go to my channel home page and you

can go to the playlist that's for

investing for beginners

review some of those videos and maybe it

might be a better use of your time to

review that first before you listen to

my uh videos sometimes i'll throw out

some weird words from financial lingo

here and there

so right now looking at this chart right

now we see that the nikkei 225 on a

monthly chart basis

it's at 3017 as of the close of february

the 19th now we see here it's the

highest level since

of may of 1999 and yes

that's right 1999 it still hasn't broken

through that high

it's kind of amazing here as almost

every other market in the world is way

higher than that price but

the nikkei still is not so on friday in

the japan market it did slump about 0.72

percent

as well and i think right now there's

still some people around the world still

some foreign investors

are still worried about japan especially

on the corporate governance front here

uh it's still not world class and eleven

percent of companies were listed

subsidiaries of

listed entities and therefore you need

more independent directors

in that kind of market so there's still

a lack of independent directors a lot of

the corporate governance is still doing

sort of everything is

insidely done there's not that much

corporate governance from an outside

perspective

and therefore foreigners still are

worried a little bit on that and

however they're starting to wake up and

we're seeing some signs here

the first and biggest sign that i kind

of saw was actually what i thought

looking at

the futures market and looking at the

positioning wise

we should see here the futures market

according to the nikkei 225 futures

which trades

on the chicago american style exchange

this benchmark index

trades and this futures positioning

market we continue to see a build up

here that's been going on

since basically october of 2020. this

was at a

three-year low and it's continuing to

build up especially in the leveraged

money

position space leverage money usually

means this is individual accounts

personal accounts people leveraging

money

and then also on a separate basis if we

look at asset manager positions

this has been continuing to build off a

base as well here as well

and it's now looking like it wants to

make a comeback this double bottom you

see here and starting to build up higher

this is a great chart indicator to me

almost looking like this is like a

reverse head and shoulders here

their head and then two shoulders say

now that this is going to continue to go

higher

as both asset managers and leverage

money

is starting to go buying more and more

of these japanese futures and

it looks to me like this trend is just

getting started here so in the future

space

things look pretty good now let's also

look at what i kind of noticed

looking at the google trend search now

this is just a google trend search

worldwide for the term search term japan

stocks

and we're seeing here that this is

actually rising now to

one of the highest levels in the last

five years i think you got to ignore

this right here because this is during

the coronavirus crash

anything with the word stock basically

the search volume just jumped because

the market was going through a

big big pullback but if you take that

account

and if you sort of take that out of the

picture and say okay that was a one-time

situation

for the most part here we're seeing this

is that close to five-year high

and it's trending up as in usually the

whole world we're seeing here especially

the english-speaking world as most

people are speaking english

and they type in english words japan

stocks

this search volume is starting to trend

higher and it seems to me

like the foreign market outside of japan

is starting to wake up

and become more interested in the

japanese market especially because

this year-to-date performance in the

nikkei is much higher than your date

performance the nikkei is

like we said before it's ten percent

here ten percent that's much higher than

it is for

the us it's four percent in europe it's

around 3.4

finally last thing that i noticed was

the option space share

options based in japanese stocks

japanese stocks

they trade on a dollar basis during the

us market hours on a

etf called ewj this is the largest

japanese etf that trades during

u.s and european hours now looking at

this etf here

i want to show you guys something

because i thought something interesting

was happening especially in the implied

volatility space

amount of volume is just picking up a

lot in these options here

we're seeing some big option volumes

coming in january

and also february 17th just a few days

ago

now to me this is indicating that the

options market is starting to pick up

options market's starting to pick up is

a great indicator that meaning

liquidity is starting to pick up

liquidity not just in the options market

but when liquidity in the option market

picks up

it usually starts picking up in the

stock market because usually

options are based on stocks and this is

options based on ewj

and of course ewj is a compilation of

the japanese stocks that trade

during u.s hours what's called adr so

basically

there's more and more interest picking

up in the japanese names during us hours

and we can see this in options here

especially as the volume is going up

here which i think is interesting

because it looks to me like probably

people are starting to purchase

a large amount of options meaning that

either by purchasing put options as

hedges

maybe because they've already bought a

lot of stock or they're either

purchasing call options because they

think the market's going to continue to

go higher

either way no matter what it is it's

purchasing of big options

and we're noticing that i think there's

more interest in the japanese market

so let me give you my consensus at the

end here what do i think

you should be doing and how you can be

making money as as usual investment is

self-responsibility so please

make your own decisions at the end of

the day i'm just here on youtube

to give you my opinion based on somebody

who's been investing for a while

and giving you guys some advice but at

the end of the day take this always with

a grain of salt

investing you've got to always make your

own decisions try and get a lot of data

from a lot of different sources

and make your own conclusion at the end

here so now let's go on to

long-term investment and short-term

investment this is the way you divide up

your investments here

i recommend that you have to have

japanese stocks in this green area here

right now we have been on a 12-year bull

run cycle

besides yes we had you know once you

know they had the chronovirus crash we

had

uh the european crash we've had some you

know crashes here and there but still

the market's been sort of going up for

the most part

since basically 2009

and during this time still japanese

markets

it still has not recovered to the highs

of 1989 yet it's the only major market

in the world

so it's still a big laggy market and i

think it's going to play catch up

and i think you need to hold japanese

stocks in this long-term portfolio

especially guys if you are not a

japanese investor or even if you are a

japanese investor

make sure you hold some japanese stocks

in the domestic market too not just the

new york

market not just the u.s market but try

to hold some japanese stocks

just hold some basic etfs here

especially guys you can get great

exposure in some of these big etfs like

1306 here

this is a big etf that tracks the topics

index

this is like the s p 500 in the japanese

market and 1321

this tracks the nikkei again these are

both great to hold and i think you

should hold on to these

for the long term so that you can make

money and you can

also benefit from this japan cycle that

we're going to continue to see because i

think we will break

the 1989 highs it's just a matter of

time
